Employment Act Updates

As of 1st April 2019, the salary threshold for non-workmen to qualify as Part IV employees (eligible for overtime pay) will be raised from $2,500 to $2,600. The cap for salary base used to calculate overtime pay has also increased from $2,250 to $2,600. The system has been updated with these new requirements.

Enhanced Payroll Reports

Report 21 has been enhanced to include a column for cost centres. You can also group employees by cost centres.

OT Requests

This feature is useful for companies who only reimburse employees pay or time off based on approved overtime.

Employees can now make official requests for OT and choose to be reimbursed via payment or time off. Their manager will be able to approve or reject the request. Upon approval, the approved OT can be transferred to Payroll for OT pay calculation or to Leave for crediting of time off.

Split Shifts

This feature is useful for companies who need to assign two shifts to a single employee in a day. This is common in F&B and security industries who have multiple shifts and extended breaks between shifts.

For example, if an employee has to work from 10am to 2pm, then only 5pm to 10pm, you can set a single shift from 10am to 10pm, split it to two and adjust the start and end times of the shift.
